The rover robot will have a mission to explore the surface of Mars by identifying the location of exploration sites on the planet while avoiding obstacles. All in the fastest possible time.
The objective of the Mission on Mars Robot Challenge is not to build a robot; the rover robot, 3-D printed and made with Arduino and Raspberry Pi cards, will be provided by MathWorks. The competition’s objective is to optimize the MATLAB and Simulink algorithms used by the rover to complete the mission as fast as possible. Each team will have to improve the simulation model used by the rover for a chance to win.
