The easiest way to find out if MATLAB® Grader™ has already been integrated with your LMS is to add a MATLAB Grader coding problem to your course. See the next section for instructions.
If you cannot find the MATLAB Grader integration, or it is clear that MATLAB Grader has not been integrated yet, contact one of the resources in Getting Help.
If an LMS administrator has already performed MATLAB Grader integration with Sakai®, you can add MATLAB Grader coding problems to your course.
In Sakai, go to the site you want to add a MATLAB Grader coding problem to.
Select Lessons from the Tool Menu.
If Lessons is not visible
Select Site Info > Manage Tools.
Select Lessons from the list of tools.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Continue.
Click Add Content +.
Select Add External Tool, located at the bottom of the list.
Click the tool name corresponding to MATLAB Grader.
For Tool Title, enter the problem name.
To launch the problem, click on the problem name. Sakai launches the MATLAB Grader interface for copying and creating content.
You can create a new problem or select a problem from your available collections or courses. To access your MATLAB Grader content, see Link MathWorks Account to MATLAB Grader Coding Problems.

To add MATLAB Grader to Sakai External Tools:
In MATLAB Grader, using the top navigation, go to LMS Integration.
Other from the drop-down
Click Generate Key and Secret. Copy these values and the Launch URL.
Sign into Sakai and navigate to the Administration Workspace.
Select External Tools from the Tool Menu.
Click Installed Tools.
Click the Install LTI 1.1 Tool link.
For Tool Title, we recommend “MATLAB Grader”.
Allow instructors to change Tool Title.
For Button Text, we recommend “MATLAB Grader”.
Set Tool Status to Enabled.
For Launch URL, enter the Launch URL obtained in the first step.
For Launch Key, enter the MATLAB Grader Key that you generated in the first step.
For Launch Secret, enter the MATLAB Grader Secret that you generated in the first step.
Under Privacy Settings, ensure all options are unselected.
Select the following Services:
Allow External Tool to return grades
Allow External Tool to create grade columns
Indicate the following type of Content Item/Deep Link Selection launch:
Allow the tool to be one of the assessment types.
Select Allow additional custom parameters (just above Splash Screen section)
If you have a section Type of LTI 1.1 Launch to Use, select “Use Legacy LTI 1.1 Launch.”
When you have completed configuring the settings, click Save.
