Manage Server Instance Using Dashboard

After you create an on-premises server instance using the dashboard interface and the start the server, you can manage the server from the interface. For example, you can edit the configuration, verify its status, restart and stop the server, and remove the server instance.

Edit Server Instance Configuration

To edit a server instance configuration, follow these steps.

  1. Select the server instance from the navigation pane.

  2. Select the Settings tab.

  3. Edit the values for configuration settings.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Restart the server instance.

Configuration changes do not take effect until the server instance is restarted.

Verify Server Instance Status

You can restart a server instance from either the navigation tree or from the overview page of that server instance.

  1. Locate the server instance in the leftmost navigation pane.

  2. Verify the color of the icon representing the instance.

    • A green icon specifies that the server instance is running.

    • A grey icon specifies that the server instance is stopped.

  1. Select the server instance from the leftmost navigation pane.

  2. Select the Overview tab.

  3. Verify the status displayed on the top of the page.

Restart Server Instance

You can restart a server instance from either the server information page or from the page of that server instance.

  1. From the navigation tree, select the server machine.

    For example: Servers > localhost

  2. Locate the server instance in the instance list.

  3. Click the dark gray circle restart button in the Actions column.

Stop Server Instance

You can stop a server instance from either the server information page or from the page of that server instance.

  1. From the navigation tree, select the server machine.

    For example: Servers > localhost

  2. Locate the server instance in the instance list.

  3. Click the orange square stop button in the Actions column.

Remove Server Instance

To remove a server instance from dashboard and delete its resources from the local machine, follow these steps.

  1. Ensure that the server instance is stopped.

  2. From the navigation tree, select the server machine.

    For example: Servers > localhost

  3. Locate the server instance in the instance list.

  4. Click the trash can button in the Actions column.
