Syntax

mcsValue = maxMCS(rateControl,receiverNodeID,transmissionFormat,nSTS,channelBW)

Description

mcsValue = maxMCS(rateControl,receiverNodeID,transmissionFormat,nSTS,channelBW) returns the highest selectable modulation and coding scheme (MCS) index for the specified receiver.

Input Arguments

rateControl — Rate control object

object of subclass of wlanRateControl class

Rate control object, specified as an object of a subclass of the wlanRateControl class.

receiverNodeID — Node ID of intended receiver

positive integer

Node ID of the intended receiver, specified as a positive integer.

transmissionFormat — Transmission format used for receiver

"Non-HT" | "HT-Mixed" | "VHT" | "HE-SU" | "HE-EXT-SU" | "HE-MU" | "HE-TB" | "EHT-SU"

Transmission format used for the receiver, specified as "Non-HT", "HT-Mixed", "VHT", "HE-SU", "HE-EXT-SU", "HE-MU", "HE-TB", or "EHT-SU".

nSTS — Number of space-time streams for transmission

integer in range [1, 8]

Number of space-time streams for the transmission, specified as an integer in the range [1, 8].

channelBW — Channel bandwidth

20e6 | 40e6 | 80e6 | 160e6 | 320e6

Channel bandwidth for the transmission, specified as 20e6, 40e6, 80e6, 160e6, or 320e6. Units are in Hz.

Output Arguments

mcsValue — Maximum MCS value for specified receiver

integer

Maximum MCS value for the specified receiver, returned as an integer.
