For a particular project on what basis you decide to go with either Model Based Design or Hand coding

This is the question asked by one of our clients. We could give out all the benefits we get with model based design. But we reap those benefits when we are committed to go with MBD. Before actually commiting to MBD approach how would you defend MBD approach instead of hand coding for a particular project?
