Why is the library browser in Simulink so slow in Matlab R2022 (MacOS) and how can it be fixed?

Whenever I want to search for an object in the library browser, when using Simulink, I usually double-click on a blank area and type in the name of the object. On my Windows desktop (and previous laptops) it works just fine, responsive and quick. But with my Simulink on my MacBook Pro M1 (native) it seems to take at least a few seconds, where the entire library browser field for typing seems to freeze, before I get the results.
I am running MATLAB R2022b currently and have also tried with R2022a, both give the same result. My OS is Ventura 13.2+
Some other functions such as panning, moving and zooming seem to stutter also. Finally I've noticed that my simulations tend to take quite a bit of time to run (30-60 seconds), while the same simulations take half the time on a significantly older and weaker windows desktop.
Is this issue fixable and how?

Hi Jonas,
It is my understanding that you are facing an issue with Simulink on MacOS Ventura 13.2+ even after trying with R2022a version. There are few things you can try to improve the performance:
  1. Ensure that you have latest version of MATLAB and Simulink installed. For this, please click “Help” in MATLAB and then click “Check for Updates”. Alternatively, download update from this link: https://in.mathworks.com/downloads/
2. Simulink cache can also slow down the Simulink. To clear the Simulink cache, go to Simulink, Select “Model Configuration Parameters”. In the “Simulink Target Section”, click on “Clear Simulink Cache”.
3. If the above steps do not work, please refer to this link for other possible resolutions: https://in.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/422244-why-do-buttons-apps-or-the-editor-in-matlab-respond-slowly-or-hang-on-macos
Hope this helps.

Hi Jonas,
I understand that you are experiencing the issue of slow responsiveness of custom-built GUI for MATLAB R2022b on your MacBook Pro M1. I also notice that you are also facing issues with other functions like panning, moving, zooming etc. and your simulations are also taking more time than usual.
The above issue is potentially due to the usage of window snapping/management tools, for example: Magnet.
You can try the following workarounds to fix this issue:
  1. Closing the window-snapping app and restarting MATLAB may solve this issue. This has been seen to be effective for many past instances of similar behaviour.
  2. Another suggested workaround is toggling the display resolution to a lower resolution and back to full resolution.
  3. Kindly see the attached link for more resolution/workarounds if the above workarounds do not help: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/422244-why-do-buttons-apps-or-the-editor-in-matlab-respond-slowly-or-hang-on-macos
I hope this helps!
Thanks!

Thank you for your suggestions, however they didn't resolve my issues...
I don't have any window-snapping apps installed, so I don't think that could be the issue.
The other community post you linked also only seems to include the issue for window-management users. I do tend to have a hanging issue for the UI as they describe.
