Waveform file download to Agilent Signal Generator

If I understand the way things work, I generate a waveform, then send it to the instrument via Ethernet, then run the waveform. But in a previous life, I have generated a file, put it on a thumb drive, and plugged into the instrument. The sig gen finds the file and saves it to its memory, and I now have a permanent installation of the waveform independent of Matlab. Have things changed? Do I not have the ability to save the waveform on the instrument? Or am I missing how to do it?

I think I found it in the Agilent programming guide:
MEM:DATA:UNPRotected "NVWFM:file_name",<blockdata>
Great - so it's a SCPI, not a Matlab thing, yes? All I need to do in ensure that the waveform file is consistent with the IEEE 488.2 blockdata format? Looks like I can do that with writebinblock.

Right, it is SCPI.
