Can't activate a user. Getting Error 339: Your Mathworks Account Login session has expired

I'm trying to activate a new user on Linux (something I've done hundreds of times by now) and i'm getting this error on the final step:
Error 339: Your MathWorks Account login session has expired
... this makes no sense. I tried logging out/back into a separate web session and my password works fine. Also, I'm certain that I'm giving the correct credentials during the activation step. Please help. Thanks.

Hi Mike,
MathWorks has updated their system for validating login tokens. Previously, a login token was considered valid even if the associated MathWorks account was not verified.
This is no longer the case & this affects the following administrator workflows:
Whether you are adding a new user to a license or activating users for other workflows, administrators should instruct the end user to verify their MathWorks account to resolve this issue.
I hope this helps!

Hello,
I am facing the same issue. What do you mean by "administrators should instruct the end user to verify their MathWorks account to resolve this issue" ? We are still working with matlab 2010, we have the installer, and working with an ELA system for licensing. We have attached the licence number to the mathworks account but get this error when trying to activate the product. What should be modified on mathworks account side to make it work?
Thank you in advance.
