Hi,
I want to setup a traffic light for a crosswalk that's part of a junction. I'm using the 4 way signal template as a start and added a Walk Light Center prop to one of the post. By using the junction tool and Auto Detect Signals, the pedestrian light was connected to one of the gates. However when changing phases it doesn't seem to transition between stop and walk as it should. Is there more to the setup?
I also wanted to ask how should I configure my own custom pedestrian lights? How many variants should I create? If I want a simple pedestrian light that has 3 states (Green, Blinking, Red) is a single variant sufficient?

Hello,
Adding a Walk Light prop does not automatically add pedestrian logic.
To make the pedestrian light transition between Walk / Flash / Don’t Walk, you must:
  • Add a Pedestrian Signal Group
  • Add pedestrian phases in the signal timing table
  • Assign the pedestrian gate to that signal group
Without these, Auto Detect Signals connects the prop, but there is no phase logic, so it stays stuck.
RoadRunner supports configuring traffic signal phasing and timing, but you must set pedestrian phases manually.
For a light with 3 states (Green / Blinking / Red):
  • ONE variant is enough if your asset supports multiple states inside one model.
  • Only create multiple variants if you made separate meshes, which is optional.
This matches how RoadRunner handles customizable props: a single asset can contain multiple states.
Hope this helps.
