How to download MATLAB 2016a version??

However, I would check with your university first to see what MATLAB versions (if any) are free for students to download.

In some cases you might be eligible for a trial usage of MATLAB; https://www.mathworks.com/campaigns/products/trials.html . However, as Simscape Power System does not appear to be in any of the standard trial packages, you would need to contact Mathworks sales to request it specifically.

You would probably prefer R2017a or later, as R2017a introduced WLAN System Toolbox

Note: Neither the Student license nor the Home license can purchase the WLAN System Toolbox or the LTE System Toolbox; you need a Standard or Academic license to be able to purchase use of those toolboxes.

If you have an existing Standard or Academic license for R2016b or later, you can download R2016b from https://www.mathworks.com/products/new_products/release2016b.html. We (as outside volunteers) are not sure if it is possible to download previous releases for a Student license.

If you do not have an existing license, then you would need to contact Mathworks Sales and ask for a trial of the version you are interested in.

If you don't see it when you click 'show all', your license probably doesn't allow you to install it.

At the moment, you would first 'show more', and then R2016b and R2016a are on the bottom of the list that is shown. For versions older than that you would proceed to 'show all' .

In current versions, there is a Select Release drop-box in the upper left side of https://www.mathworks.com/downloads/ . If you can only select the current release (R2024b at the moment) then your account is not associated with any MATLAB license. If you cannot select any versions, then either your account is not associated with any MATLAB license, or else your account is associated with an institution that has disabled downloading. If you can only select some version older than R2016a then your account is associated with an older license: your license needs to be at least as new as the version you want to download.

Note: there are no free MATLAB versions.
