Community profile not updating

Has anyone else noticed that their MathWorks community profiles haven't updated in the past ~15 hours (as of 7:30am EST, 7-18-19)? Mine hasn't updated desipte recent activity on many of the posts I'm following. I looked at the community profiles of the top 5 contributors and their recent activity seemed to have ended ~15 hours ago, too. Server problem? Did the MathWorks satellite fall from the sky? Is there a contributor conference I wasn't invited to?

There is a delay of a couple of days of the Activity Feed of my Community Profile. It's been that way for several weeks.

My Activity Feed has been working nicely during the last half year, but for the last several days it's lagging behind.

For example, a comment, amenah mwuafaq on 9 Jan 2020 at 13:02, on the question, How can I speedup this code ?, appeared in my Activity Feed sometimes during the last few hours.

My MATLAB Answers shows at least eight entries in Comments that are more recent.

Hi per, unfortunately only you can look at your Comment and Answer page, we get redirected to your general contribution page which lumps everything together.

When I look at that, the two most recent entries are an answer 5 days ago, then 3 answers 7 days ago. So your 2 answers from the past 7 days may or may not be accurate, depending on where exactly the 7 days boundary is.

Didn't mathworks get in touch with you not long ago regarding your profile? I'm not sure what came out of that.

Yes, my Activity Feed lagged behind in a similar way half a year ago, which I reported in a comment in this thread (see above). Yes, Mathworks was in contact with me and the problem eventually disappeared. However, I believe it was never fully understood what caused the problem.

While I've been writing this comment a bunch of entries has turned up in my Activity Feed. The most recent entry now is a comment by M.Shaarawy on 12 Jan 2020 at 11:54 on "How to delete similar data from big data file?"

It doesn't appear so. You get 4 points per accepted answer, so it should have gone up to 14 at least.

When I look at Contributors for the last 7 days, I still see you at 10/0/2/3. Do you really see 12/0/14/4 ?

One could speculate that answers and accepted answers are not calculated at exactly the same point in time.

Yes, per isakson now shows as 10/0/3/3. Also been relegated to the 2nd page :(

There is a lag of at least several hours in the contribution page, I think it's on purpose, but for you it seems to be several days indeed. I suggest you contact Rena directly.

MATLAB Answers Wish-list #5 (and bug reports) might have been a better place to report this minor problem. If other users have made the same observation the problem is a bit bigger.

Now I'm really confused.

As of 8am EST 14-Jan-2020, per isakson's current all-time numbers are 5716 | 43 | 1987 | 940 (reputation | questions | answers | acceptedAns).

According to the reputation point table, accepted answers earn 4 points, answer-votes earn 2 and question-votes earn 1 point.

I quickly checked per's question-votes which are a total of 40 votes. Total votes received are at 947. So, that means 907 are worth 2 points and 40 are worth 1 point.

940 accepted answers x 4 points = 3760

907 answer votes x 2 points = 1814

40 question votes x 1 point = 40

3760 + 1814 + 40 = 5614 total points

But per's all-time count is reported as 5716 which is 102 more than the calculated reputation points.

Unless my understanding of reputation points is wrong or the number of awarded reputation points per answer/vote has changed, this suggests that there is a problem with the way Mathworks is computing reputation points or keeping track of answers/votes.

I repeated this process with my own current numbers and my reported reputation is 48 points more than the calcuated reputation points.

One possibility for the higher number of reported reputation points may be due to the retention of points after they have been withdrawn. For example, users can un-vote which would reduce the vote count but this doesn't reduce the reputation count.

Regarding the "102 more": yes that's probably because the un-votes.

I've send a note to Rena and fear I've made to much fuss in this thread of comments.

@Adam, reputation points are never lost, so if somebody accepts then unnaccepts your answer, you don't loose the 4 rep points. I believe it's the same for votes.

@per, I don't think it's too much fuss. If there's a problem with Answers it's better if we know.

The 'old fashioned way' of checking My Answers and My Comments (under My Matlab Answers) still worked.
