ARXML IMPORTER IN SIMULINK

I am importing an arxml composition file from an authoring tool (PREEVision) , and when it create the model they come empty just with my interface inputs and outputs as define in the authoring . then i put the internal design in each of my component. my question is now in case i want to add an interface input or output to my existing component, is there a way i can import an arxml file and instead of having a blank model, to overwrite the existing design? meaning add the interface in the authoring tool but when import to simulink keep the existing design for that component and just have a way to add that specific interface? Because when I am trying to import the modified arxml it giving me an error if that model is on my path because it tends to recreate it again blank.
