Create a maxtrix of row x columns and add values (column-wise) in a loop

I am trying to add matrix with the same number of rows to a bigger matrix column-wise in a loop. How do i do this?

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're asking for help with, but if I understand correctly you're not sure how to progressively index the columns of the bigArray? I don't see a loop for the different sets of singleJac that you want to put into the bigArray, where do the other six come from? (The data from columns 6-10, 11-15, etc)

The way I know how to put data in progessive sets of columns is with a quick loop. See the arbitrary example below for a visual. It's just a matter of indexing with variables.

% I want to put a series of 5x5 arrays into a larger 25x25 array
big = nan(25); % Create big array of nans, 25x25
for i = 1:size(big,1)/5; % Determine number of 5x5s will fit bigger rows
    for j = 1:size(big,2)/5; % Same as above for columns
        small = randi(100,5); % Create random 5x5 matrix
        big(5*(i-1):5*i,5*(j-1):5*j) = small; % Insert small array into big array
    end
end

Thanks for the quick response, let me clarify. I have bigArray size = (34232 * 35) filled with zeros. I have 7 files, each with size = (34232 * 5). I would like to add insert the 7 files into the bigArray column-wise. First file will occupy position (1:5 = column-wise). Second file (6:10 = column-wise).

Is it clear.
