Error using fread

Invalid file identifier. Use fopen to generate a valid file identifier.

Error in ReadRSS (line 32)

buff = fread(fileID,MAGICNUMBERLENGTH,'*char')';

Error in Convmod_Zoepritz (line 5)

[Vp] = ReadRSS('../Vp.rss');

While the Vp.rss files exists in the folder.
