Effective Solid Angle for Cosmic Muon Flux Estimation
Version 1.0.1 (2.35 KB) by
Junghyun Bae
Cosmic ray muon count rate estimation at sea level using the "Effective solid angle model".
Effective Solid Angle (ESA) is the solid angle which is coupled with detector geometries and configurations.
The ESA is linearly proportional to the cosmic muon count rate.
CR = rho [CR/sr] * ESA [sr] (1)
where 'rho' is the constant of proportionality. and it depends on users' detector system.
Therefore, a user will be asked to enter the muon count rate using user's muon detection system, otherwise enter "1". To learn more about "Effectvie Solid Angle Model", please read the full-length paper (below).
