The pH of a nutrient solution is crucial in determining health and productivity in crops. However, the process to obtain a nutrient solution is inherently complex due to parameter uncertainty, perturbations, and strong nonlinearity. For the above reasons, a traditional control method does not comply with the stipulated requirements. In this sense, this publication presents the design of an LQR regulator to accurately control the pH of the nutrient solution in a plant factory.
