The present work presnts the modelling of an electric energy generation system through the waves and the marine currents, emphasising the intermittency that these present, and the importance of integrating these models with energy storage technologies The model includes both the wave and current dynamics part, as well as the dynamics of the mechanical system, the electromechanical system and, finally, the power electronics part. The proposal is constituted by the models of (i) a buoy and turbine for marine currents; (ii) a gearbox; (iii) a permanent magnet synchronous generator; (iv) an AC/DC rectifier bridge; (v) a DC/DC converter; (vi) a battery; (vii) a DC/AC inverter and, finally, (viii) an electric load.
