The zip file “Konversiot.zip” contains a Matlab program with which one can perform coordinate conversions related to ETRS89 coordinate reference system’s national realisation EUREF-FIN and height transformations between N2000 normal heights and ellipsoidal EUREF-FIN heights.
The program consists of a main program and eight other functions. Two example conversions have been composed beforehand. The user can create other conversions he needs with combinations of the eight functions.
The functions can be found in the subfolder “Funktiot” and scripts for the example conversions in the subfolder “Esimerkit”. The subfolder “Kuvat” contains diagrams on how the functions relate to each other and the subfolder “Kvasigeoidimalli” contains the Finnish quasi-geoid model FIN2005N00 as a grid in list format.
The program can be tried out with the instructions below. The instructions have been written for Matlab version r2013a installed on Windows 7.
1) Unzip the file “Konversiot.zip” to a folder of your choice, e.g. “C:\Konversiot”.
2) Double-click to open the file “aloitus.m”. The file contains a script that is used to change Matlab settings and to open the functions and example scripts to the editor window. If the folder where you unzipped the file “Konversiot.zip” is other than “C:\Konversiot", replace the folder path on line cd('C:\Konversiot') in the file “aloitus.m” with the correct one and save changes.
3) Run the file “aloitus.m” by clicking the green arrow with the text “Run” on the editor tab. The functions and example scripts will open in the editor window with the file “esimerkki_1.m” active.
4) Run the file “esimerkki_1.m” by again clicking the green arrow with the text “Run” on the editor tab. The program reads Cartesian EUREF-FIN coordinates from the file “kaupungit_FINsuorak.csv” and writes TM35FIN plane coordinates and N2000 normal heights to a new file “kaupungit_TM35FIN.csv”. The file to be read can be found in the folder “Koordinaatit_lue” and the file to be written will be created in the folder “Koordinaatit_kirjoita”.
Comments on the program’s source code and readme file “lue_minut.txt” are in Finnish.
The quasi-geoid model “FIN2005N00.lst” is provided by National Land Survey of Finland and licensed under Creative Commons 4.0 International license. The model was acquired in February 2016.
