The objectives of this book are to provide a unified treatment of system dynamics and automatic controls, to emphasize the key role that dynamic system modeling plays in most engineering endeavors, to illustrate the proper balance between theory and current practice, and to highlight certain concepts and practices that are important in professional work. The book comprises three parts: Physical Modeling and Model Construction, Model Solution, and System Design. Throughout the book, a wide range of engineering disciplines are incorporated, including mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, fluid, thermal, and chemical applications. In addition to presenting both classical and modern state-space control, the author gives a comprehensive presentation of the beginning and ending steps in dynamic system analysis, physical modeling and design realization.
