Kempen is part of Van Lanschot Kempen, the oldest independent financial institution in the Netherlands. As part of its wealth management services, Kempen offers structured products tailored to the risk-return profile of a client.
MATLAB® is used throughout the structured products workflow, from a quote request to the documentation used to complete a transaction. Documentation was previously produced through an Excel® VBA–based tool that was not connected to the structured products database. Critical information had to be manually transferred from the database to an Excel worksheet, which was inefficient and increased the risk of error.
Kempen used MATLAB Report Generator™ to create a customized report building tool that significantly enhances and automates the last mile of sealing the deal: namely, building contractual agreements. The result is a flexible, easy-to-maintain document generator integrated into the current structured products workflow with seamless, automated access to the dynamic data model.
