Simple Acoustic Enclosure block

Description

Add-On Required: This feature requires the Simscape Acoustics add-on.

The Simple Acoustic Enclosure block models a simple enclosure in acoustic systems. The block assumes the dimensions of the enclosure are smaller than the acoustic wavelength at any frequency included in the analysis. The block represents a pure acoustic compliance and neglects any losses that might exist in the enclosure. The compliance value of the block is

$$C=\frac{V_0}{\gamma P_0},$$

where:

• V₀ is the physical volume of the enclosure.

• γ is the ratio of specific heats of the medium.

• P₀ is the ambient pressure of the medium.

The input of the enclosure is the conserving port +. An internal negative conserving port is connected to an Acoustic Reference block.
