How to measure pitch period. for each letter section??

If my speech signal for letter section /aeiou/ sampled at 8KHZ. Given is my matlab code.And how to calculate my own pitch period and samples....?

There are many methods to do, the autocorrelation approach is easy and quite effective. You can calcute your signal's autocorrelation with

c=xcorr(y,y);

In your autocorrelation function it is easier to estimate the pitch.
