Do I need to buy one of the tool boxes for MATLAB to communicate with a Bluetooth device?

I am working an arduino with a Bluetooth xbee shield. My laptop can see the arduino as a bluetooth device. I would like to be able to receive sensor data from the arduino into MATLAB. How do I open communicate with it.
I think I made need the Instruments Control Toolbox

Bluetooth communication requires the Instrument Control Toolbox.
