How to extract pixel size from a geotiff image

I wish to know pixel size (in both x and y ) of my input image (not size of image in pixels). I tried using imfinfo, it gives x and y resolution (which is not pixel size, as for my image it was 0.6, 0.6, but x, y resolutions were shown as 1,1). Also please clarify what is x,y resolution there in imfinfo. I also tried geotifread and geotifinfo,it seems they don't give this info, or its hidden (needs to be calculated form what is given). Can someone help me find pixel size (in x,y) of my image.

I got the answer a = geotiffinfo('tifffilename'); a.PixelScale gives pixel size in x,y,z, directions
