Big Data and Machine Learning for Automotive Engineers

Learn how MATLAB is used by automotive companies to turn large volumes of complex data into actionable information for vehicle design and decision-making processes.  We’ll look at recent technology for big data and machine learning, and see how it can be applied to traditional problems faced by automotive engineers.

Highlights include:

  • Accessing and analyzing data stored in common file formats such as MDF
  • Processing data that is too big to fit in memory
  • Working with new MATLAB datatypes that help you make sense of your data
  • Prototyping and refining machine learning models
  • Running machine learning models on embedded systems

About the Presenter

Will Wilson is an application engineer at MathWorks, where he focuses on data analytics, machine learning, and big data. Prior to joining MathWorks in 2015, Will spent 10 years working at Robert Bosch, LLC in Plymouth, Michigan. There he focused on safety-related products including occupant classification systems and airbag control systems. His experience at Bosch included systems engineering, airbag calibration, technical project management, and strategic marketing with focus on ADAS technology.
