Industrial Truck Models in Simscape

Engineers can use Simscape™ to design and test industrial trucks in a virtual environment. They can develop and automatically analyze mechanical designs, electric and hydraulic actuation, control logic, and testing scenarios within Simulink®. These models are useful throughout the entire development process, from refining requirements to testing the software that will be embedded in products. Learn about tasks that can be performed with Simscape models, including:

  • Detecting integration issues in systems that involve hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components
  • Performing dynamic simulations to refine load cases
  • Refining requirements for actuation systems, such as force, torque, motion range, and speed levels
  • Sizing powertrain components appropriately for both propulsion and lift mechanisms
  • Connecting custom multi-link suspensions to passive and active hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Exploring the entire design space by running simulations in parallel
  • Developing supervisory control systems in Simulink and Stateflow®
  • Reducing costs by performing fewer expensive, time-consuming hardware tests
  • Varying the level of fidelity of your electrical network, using average-value, piecewise linear, or nonlinear models in power converters
  • Testing a wider set of use cases by exposing your system to a broad range of scenarios and loading conditions
  • Testing your embedded software against a virtual vehicle by converting your Simscape model to C code and running it on a real time computer, such as Speedgoat
