Modelling and Simulating Analog Devices’ RF Transceivers with MATLAB and RF Blockset

Giorgia Zucchelli, MathWorks

MathWorks introduces MATLAB and RF Blockset for simulating mixed-signal components and wireless systems. Our example will create a model of the Analog Devices single chip AD9361 RF Transceiver and show how to model the RF front-end together with the automatic gain control system.

You will learn to:

  • Develop algorithms in MATLAB and Simulink for wireless and mixed-signal systems
  • Build models of Analog Devices components based on data sheet parameters and integrate them into system designs
  • Build testbenches for the verification of system-level performance
  • Simulate RF systems together with complex control logic

This webinar will use an example LTE communication system (LTE Toolbox) to highlight the enhanced capabilities of MATLAB, Simulink, RF Blockset, and Analog Devices’ Agile RF Transceiver.

About the Presenters:

Dr. Giorgia Zucchelli is the product marketing manager for RF and mixed-signal at MathWorks. Before moving to this role in 2012, she spent three years as an application engineer focusing on signal processing and communications systems and specializing in analog simulation. Before joining MathWorks in 2009, Giorgia worked at NXP Semiconductors on mixed-signal verification methodologies and at Philips Research developing system-level models for innovative telecommunication systems. Giorgia has a master’s degree in electronic engineering and a doctorate in electronics for telecommunications from the University of Bologna. Her thesis dealt with modeling high-frequency RF devices.

Robin Getz has spent 20 years in the semiconductor industry, and held positions ranging from factory applications engineer to field applications engineer to engineering manager. He has worked on a variety of systems in the analog, digital, and software domains and with large direct customers and smaller customers served by distribution. Robin has been with ADI for 15 years and is the engineering manager for ADI's Global Alliances organization, where he works creating HDL interfaces and device drivers for ADI's mixed-signal IC products. He holds four patents and a BSc (EE) from the University of Saskatchewan.
