Senior Data Warehouse Developer/Analyst

Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead, will be responsible for designing, developing and testing sophisticated data warehouse software; designing and developing data mart solutions to provide MathWorks with valuable customer and product insights; profiling and understanding large amounts of source data, including structured and semi-structured data; collaborating with stakeholders to address data and system gaps and developing integrations with other company data; translating user requirements into data models and data mart designs; designing and developing ETL processes to load data into MathWorks' data marts using a variety of tools, including BusinessObjects Data Services; conducting thorough testing of data mart solutions to ensure quality; conducting performance tuning, troubleshooting and operational support; and providing support and mentoring to end users to support their data needs. Participates in 24/7 on-call support every two months.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and two (2) years of experience in job offered or two (2) years of experience in data warehouse development and database modeling.

OR

Bachelor’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience in job offered or six (6) years of experience in data warehouse development and database modeling.

 

Special Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise designing ETL solutions for data warehouse and data mart loads, including capacity planning, ETL code and performance optimization using SSIS, SAP or Informatica, and implementing data reporting solutions using BI tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise writing complex stored procedures and SQL query scripts on Teradata, DB2, MSSQL or MySQL databases to extract, manipulate and load data.
  • Demonstrated expertise performing database implementation, including strategizing data acquisition, archiving recovery, and designing solutions for business intelligence and data warehouse platforms.
  • Demonstrated expertise designing logical and physical layers of relational and multidimensional SQL Server, Teradata, DB2, and Oracle database models using data modeling tools -- ERStudio or Erwin, and implementing user-based security for underlying database objects.
