Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead, will be responsible for developing sophisticated software for small self-contained projects; implementing moderatelycomplex 3D modeling software; writing high quality code, designing extensible software using software engineering principles, patterns and methodologies, performance monitoring and integration; participating in components of software development projects of moderate scope, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, qualification and validation; assisting crossfunctional team members in engineering, quality engineering, user experience, and documentation; increasing productivity and bringing quality features to market; and working with subject matter experts in pursuit of continuous improvement of designs and modeling strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no experience.

or

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer (or related occupation) developing or testing 3D modeling applications..

Special Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise programming in MATLAB, including writing algorithms to solve domain-specific problems using computational geometry.
  • Demonstrated expertise using 3D modeling software applications -- Houdini and SolidWorks -- to generate 3D shapes and geometries; and testing 3D model creation and analysis tools for consistency, accuracy, and performance.
  • Demonstrated expertise programming in C++ and integrating C++ software libraries with MATLAB infrastructure to create a MATLAB API that supports 3D Text Geometry within MATLAB.
  • Demonstrated expertise performing qualitative and quantitative usability testing and performing statistical analysis of user data.
