How to debug an EXE file

I have an exe file, after experimenting with it, i've found out it neither has CLR header nor is it a .Net executable. However, I need to debug it, and understand the source code.. Please help!

Is this a MATLAB question? (I don't see the MATLAB Compiler listed in the product box below.) Do you have source code? What language is it in? (If it's not MATLAB, we won't help.)

If it is MATLAB then we can't help much. The MATLAB Compiler encrypts the original .m files, and it is intended that source compiled through MATLAB Compiler be quite difficult to extract.

Unless of course he has the source code. Maybe he got it from someone else and just doesn't understand it. If the exe doesn't even run , then see the FAQ.
