copy fig from newest matlab to newest power point

Is anyone else having the attached problem? Copying and pasting figures from the newest matlab into the newest ppt places a boarder around the plot as if it is 1 of 4. In the attached I have drawn a rectangle around the plot that outlines the extent of the matlab figure; clicking on the plot will highlight the full extent of the matlab object. Needless to say, this is incredibly inconvenient since the result is either cumbersome to resize and/or needs to be cropped.
