How can I import time histories from .HDF file?

Hi, I am working with .HDF files. This format was made by National Centre for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA). Please note it is not HDF4 or HDF5 or HDF-EOS format. These files contain pressure coefficients at different times in boundary layer wind tunnel. I want to load this data in matlab to work with it. How can I load it? Currently I am using this command: x=load_hdf_file('kkk.hdf,'a')
But it says there is an error.
Thanks.

Which release of Matlab do you use? load_hdf_file is it from the File Exchange? Why is it neither HDF4 nor HDF5?

Matlab codes were specifically created for storing and retrieving boundary layer wind tunnel data. These commands are correct. However, sometimes it is running and sometimes it is not. I added the path many times, but still I get the error.

Without more information, it is close to impossible to say what causes your problems.
  • what is the error message?
  • do you click "Save" after adding the path?
  • do you use HDFView or similar to inspect the file?

I found the solution. The .HDF files and .m files must be stored in the same folder and this folder must be added in the path to successfully run the load_hdf_file command.
