Matlab academic licence use, how many posts of installation?

I am part of a research team in a university. My boss owns a Matlab academic individual licence (paid by the university) that can support 4 activations. I've been told that I can not use my boss' licence in order to activate Matlab on the computer that is owned by the university. I would like to know if that's just a rumor or if I can activate matlab with my boss licence on my work computer?
Thanks

Valentin, it depends on the activation type. For individual licenses there are two different activation types: Standalone Named User and Designated Computer. For the former, the right-to-use is assigned to one specific person. For the latter, the software is installed on one particular computer for use by multiple people.

Valentin, This is a community for discussing technical questions. Business or license model questions need to be discussed with a MathWorks Sales representative. I will make sure you will be contacted.
The point is also that you might get answers you like more, but would you be ready to rely on that? I am sure that the MathWorks sales representative will find the optimal way to provide you with the MATLAB Access you need.

Ok, thank you both for your answers, the software manager of my university have contacted mathworks this morning, it is indeed a Standalone Named User, thus I can not use it.
But as a doctoral student, I think I'll may be able to buy the student version.
