Problems installing MCR on Win 7 x64
Afficher commentaires plus anciens
Hi there,
when I'm trying to install the MCR 7.15 I get:
The files for installation requirement VCREDIST_v90_X64 could not be found. The installation will now stop. This is probably due to a failed, or canceled download.
Does anyone have some suggestions how to solve the problem?
Best regards, Sebastian

I calculated the md5 checksum for the 11a MCR 64bit:
08906239dd109d0f41605984377c7ae5
I used:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/checksumtool/

Mhh okay. You try to install it on a Win7 x64 machine? Installing the vcredist needs admin rights. do you have those? maybe try installing the vcredist_v90_x64 manually before installing the MCR and see if the same error still occur.

I have never seen this issue before. Seems like you are the first one facing this issue. What happens when installing the vcredist_v90_x64 manually?

You can find it here:
C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2011a\bin\win64\vc90

So the error is thrown from the vc_redist installer. There was a known issue with this:

Since you are running Win7 it should exist anymore. But the error looks like yours. MathWorks has a solution for this too:
http://www.mathworks.com/support/solutions/en/data/1-6LU4O5/index.html?product=CO&solution=1-6LU4O5
So disable antivirus software and the UAC of Win7. The UAC forces a lot of strange Win7 behaviors.

As far as I know, VCREDIST is a file of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008/2010 Redistributable Package. Better try to install x32 and x64 of this free package and try again.
