For making one of the two subplot transparent want to check OpenGL in matlab and then use the same

I am using matlab R2013a on a Macintosh system with Windows 8 as a virtual machine. I want to use alpha/transparency or opacity function for the following following sample code :
clc;
clear all;
x = linspace(0,10);
y1 = sin(x);
y2 = sin(5*x);
figure
subplot(2,1,1);
plot(x,y1)
subplot(2,1,2);
plot(x,y2)
What I am actually trying is, trying to make only the 1st subplot transparent and other remain as opaque or non-transparent.
From the matlab help, I found out that it can be done using alpha property. However it requires OpenGL with something called as rendering mode. Can anyone help me how to make the above thing work?

Krunal - in the Command Window type
opengl info
which will print information with the version and vendor of the OpenGL on your system. See opengl for details. Then check the examples at making objects transparent.
