MATLAB crashes when I try to plot.

I upgraded to 2014b, and now MATLAB crashes whenever I try to plot. Any advice? I can't even use the opengl command, as that causes MATLAB to crash too.

I would suggest that you use the -softwareopengl startup option and see if that resolves the issue. This startup option forces MATLAB to start with software OpenGL libraries.
So at the Windows command line you would need to use the following startup option:
matlab -softwareopengl

This doesn't work for me, neither using opengl hardware nor software prevents MATLAB from crashing once the plot function is invoked. Any other idea?

Initially I thought you had a solution because you accepted the answer. But it looks like the solution actually should not have been accepted. In that case, see the FAQ: http://matlab.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ#After_installation.2C_MATLAB_crashes_or_gives_an_error_message_when_I_try_to_run_MATLAB.

I tried all of the above and I found my own solution. Maybe this will help someone else one day :
My system : Windows 10 IPEC 10074 64 bit, MATLAB R2015a 32bit
On the matlab shortcut, I went on its properties and changed the compatibility settings :
a.) Change settings for all users
b.) Windows 7 as compatibility mode
c.) Run this program as an administrator
After I did that, matlab finally did not crash anymore when trying to plot.

I had the same issue. Im on laptop with intel HD 4000 and win 7 64. My solution was to adjust my visual effects. search for "adjust visual effect" on start menu. I had it set to "best performance" but apperently matlab doesnt like it.
