"Geometry Images" Matlab Implementation
Afficher commentaires plus anciens
The paper "Geometry images" describes the process of remeshing of irregular triangle meshes onto a completely regular structure that is called "Geometry Image". It captures geometry as a simple 2D array of quantized points. Surface signals like normals and colors are stored in similar 2D arrays using the same implicit surface parametrization --- texture coordinates are absent. To create a geometry image, an arbitrary mesh is cut along a network of edge paths, and parametrize the resulting single chart onto a square.
Has anyone done any implementation of this work to share?

Hi ionas
have a look at this course:
You can find the required toolboxes in the section "Installing toolboxes and setting up the path" at http://www.numerical-tours.com/matlab/meshdeform_2_parameterization_sphere/
Hope it helps!
