On my Mac (OSX Monetery 12.5.1) Matlab's listTrueTypeFonts only lists installed TrueType fonts located in /Users/thisuser/Library/Fonts or /System/Library/Fonts, but not in the subfolder /System/Library/Fonts/Supplemental, where actually most of the installed TrueType fonts on my computer are located.
One workaround is to copy a ttf file from /System/Library/Fonts/Supplemental to another folder, and install it from there, so that it will be copied to the user folder /Users/thisuser/Library/Fonts.
Any other solution? I guess this is a bug, and listTrueTypeFonts should list all installed fonts, including those located in Supplemental ...

Update: the newly installed font shows up in listTrueTypeFonts, but, as an example, when I install "Courier New", I get an error message when trying to use it:
Error using insertText>populateGlyphBuffer_sim
FreeType: Unable to load font file.
Error in insertText (line 146)
populateGlyphBuffer_sim(font,fontFileName,faceIndex,fontSize);
The crash happens in visionPopulateGlyphBuffer, which is "an undocumented builtin function" according to Matlab help.
