I am using the Synchronous Machine Model 1.0 in Simulink Simscape.
Does the rotor core of the Synchronous Machine Model 1.0 include hysteresis characteristics?

Hi Dongwon
Hysteresis properties are related to the magnetic properties of the core material and its behaviour under varying magnetic fields.
By inspecting the block parameters tab, it can be observed that no parameter related to magnetic properties such as core losses, hysteresis or magnetic saturation is present.
Which implies that Synchronous Machine Model 1.0 doesn’t include hysteresis characteristics directly.
One of the workarounds to include hysteresis characteristics in a Simscape model is by creating a custom component using an SSC (Simscape Component) file.
Simscape Component files allows us to define custom physical components with specific behaviours that are not available in the standard Simscape libraries.
For more information regarding creating simscape components (.ssc files), kindly refer the following documentation.
I hope this helps.
