How can I read an mpeg2 transport stream video file (*.ts)

I am trying to read an mpeg2 transport stream video file (*.ts) in Matlab. The video is compressed using H.264. I am able to play the video with Windows Media Player and VLC media player. Matlab VideoReader function does not seem to recognize it.

No, I have not been able to read the video off the transport stream. I also would like methods to extract the data and audio in the stream if possible.
