MathWorks Self-Paced Online Course License Error -5

I am trying to do an online self-paced course, just as the last line in the error report suggests. Surely it must be possible!

Please remember, I am trying to do this course online.
Your account does not have a Simscape Electrical license associated with it.

I know. But that is why I am trying to take the course online.
The final line of the error does say: Alternatively, you can take the course on the MathWorks Self-Paced Online Courses website.
These courses are available, without having any local MATLAB installed at all. Am I wrong?

The course is running under your account, so you only have access to your licensed toolboxes.
I see. So I should create a new login acc. with MathWorks, and take my courses there? I shall try.

How are you trying to open the course? I think you need to select 'Launch in Browser' from the course page instead of trying to open it from Simulink, When you do that, a MATLAB Online session will open that contains the toolboxes you will need to complete the course.
I tested with my personal account that does not have Simulink. If I sign into MATLAB Online directly, this is the result of ver.I can't launch the course at all because I don't have Simulink.
However, when I click on the link 'Take the course using Simulink Online', a version of MATLAB Online opens that yields the following results.
I tested using another account that has no license associated with it at all, and I was still able to launch Circuit Simulation Onramp. If you have tried this before and still get the error, try clearing you browser cache and cookies, try signing out and back in to MathWorks.com, or try a different browser.

I tried the following:
  1. Cleaned up the browser, rebooted the computer, did NOT touch Matlab, and lawnched the online course. Same error.
  2. Launched the online course on an other computer which does not have Matlab installed: Same error.
  3. On the second computer, created a new user account, and tried the course: worked successfully!
My conclusion: There is something wrong with my account. I can go round the problem using the second user account, but I prefer to have all my certifications in one place. If that is not possible, so be it.
It seems a big limitation, if some certifications achived with my license are in one account, while others without the license have to be in an other account (unless there is a way to transfer certificates from one user account to an other).
It would appear there is an issue with your account. We cannot help you with that. Please contact support to get the issue resolved.
