Resize Legend in R2015a

I want to resize the legend box so that the lines are smaller, and then adjust the box to fit. However, in R2015a some of the handles for the legend appear to be missing or hidden. The new version is: [legh, objh, outh, outm] = legend(...). The handles for the lines and labels are in objh, but I can't find the handles for the outline box in any of these.
