Simulink - Logging Data

Hi,

I need to log data from my simulink model. As I see there are several options:

1. 'To File' block 2. 'To Workspace' block 3. Using a scope/Parameters/Data history/Save data to workspace 4. Signal Properties/Log signal data

Are there any more? Which is the best option? Am I right, that only number 1 saves as a .mat file and 2-4 save only to workspace? How does the logging influence my simulation speed - do I need the same amount of RAM for all options?
