how to import excel financial series?

Hi guys, i am new in Matlab and i am having some problems. To import a financial series(it is an Excel file) i am having some problems.I need it because after i will have to compute some moving average. Can somebody explain me easily how to do it? I tried with the mathalb documentation but i failed.
