Can I call a matlab script from a mupad notebook?

I have some parameter constants defined in a matlab script that I need to read into a MuPad notebook. Is it possible to call the matlab script from the MuPad notebook and access the parameter constants?

This contains examples of using MATLAB variables in MUPAD and could serve as a good starting point.
