Add values from beginng to uitable in GUI without erasing the olds .

Hello i'm writting a GUI and i want to add the values without erasing the older ones.I watched this video which was very helpful and thats the method i want to use https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqkPIsuINQE but here it says data(end+1,:) , but i don't want to alter the values from the end and down, I want to start from the beginning. Is there any way to change the above sentence? Something like data(begin+1,:)? Thanks a lot!

data(1:size(newdata,1), 1:size(newdata,2)) = newdata;    %replace from top left leaving lower part unchanged

set(handles.uitable1, 'Data', data);    %update in gui
