Getting started battery modelling using matlab

1. I am starter in matlab. never worked in it before except in some maths formulas. 2. I want to start learning battery modelling in matlab. Which is write place to begin with. Have knowledge of battery & battery chemistries. 3. Is there any free or student version also for this?
