How do I start MDCS
Afficher commentaires plus anciens
Hello!
I recently (tried to) installed a Matlab MDCS. After few tries, the installation went successfull and the license file is integrated. At this time, everything was nice except that I didn't run matlab yet.
To test it, I started $matlabroot\bin\matlab.exe. When doing that, I receive an error (License Manager error -18) and I see this in the license manager log: "16:56:20 (MLM) UNSUPPORTED: "MATLAB" (PORT_AT_HOST_PLUS ) xxxxx@xxxxxx (License server system does not support this feature. (-18,327))"
Can anyone help me point where is the trouble?
- Is there anything wrong with my license file?
- As this concerns MDCS, is it normal that $matlabroot\bin\matlab.exe does not start?
- How can I start the MDCS and check everything is fine?
Thanks for any help!
Jerome

Here is "License Manager Error 18" troubleshooting.
First, could you restart license manager and run MATLAB again?
This is a link which shows hot to restart. https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/102968-how-do-i-start-or-stop-the-mathworks-flexnet-license-manager

Let me confirm. Did you install MDCS in your client machine or also install in your compute nodes (servers)? Related to your second question, you should set a license file (license.dat) in the license server which runs MATLAB License Server, and another license file (network.lic) in the compute nodes.
The hostname of your license server, ID, and ports written in license.dat must be the same as those written in the network.lic.
