During the multiplication of 2 fixed point numbers matlab automatically changes the word length and length of fractional part... Is there a way of explicitly defining the word length and fractional part for an operation?
ie eg let 3.45 ,2.45 be fixed point numbers
c=2.45*3.45 can we explicitly specify the word length and fractional length of c before computing 3.45*2.45? can anyone explain?
