Which root-finding algorithm used in roots function ?

We are at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University in Computer Engineering Department researching root finding algorithms. We have developed new root finding method and currently testing and comparing to other root finding methods. We would like to know which root-finding algorithm/method used in "roots" function in Matlab. So we can more precisely measure efficiency of our algorithm and compare to Matlabs "roots" function.
